About ASPA
Revised September 2022
OVERVIEW OF AMERICAN SCREEN PRINTING ASSOCIATION
American Screen Printing Association (ASPA) is a privately held corporation serving the screen printing industry throughout the USA and worldwide. Its purpose is to provide a resource for screen printers for the exchange of information on screen printing technology as well as training and certification programs. ASPA has thousands of members throughout the United States and in over 120 countries worldwide.
Mission
American Screen Printing Association was founded with a threefold mission: (a). to be a “how-to” information center for screen printing techniques and related procedures and practices, (b). to provide professional recognition to the occupation of screen printing and establish a screen printing competency standard through certification. ASPA certification sets a competency standard for those engaged in or planning to work in the field of screen printing and provides recognition to those who demonstrate knowledge of the screen printing craft. (c). as an online resource for screen printers and vendors to promote their business services.
ASPA Certification Program
ASPA’s Certified Screen Printer (CSP) program was established to provide recognition to screen printers who can demonstrate their competency and knowledge in the field of screen printing. It is the only certification program in the industry for verifying screen printers' knowledge of standards, practices, and procedures. The ASPA Artists of Merit Program was initiated in 2022, replacing the successful ASPA Certified Graphic Artist program that was in operation for over ten years and was used by artists in print shops, student artists in schools and freelance artists throughout the world.
